Determination and a Solid Foundation

Your business may be new or several years old. If sales are not so good, what you need now is an infusion of determination. It is the solid foundation of many successful businesses.

Weíve all heard the stories before. Best-selling authors self-published their first novel and sold it out of their cars until they were discovered. Penniless movie stars who were discovered waiting tables or who spent their last dime on a bus ticket to Hollywood for a chance at fame.

The one common thread in these scenarios is determination. Willpower is more of an attitude than an act. It is the feeling that spurs you on to actions that lead to business victory.

This attitude is more than just a ìcan doî type of approach. Determination encompasses a love of the task at hand and the will to see it through to the end ñ period. In business situations, that means, turning your fledgling business into a successful enterprise using whatever methods (only honest methods, mind you) that will get you there.

With all of the new technology these days, the Internet is one of the premier places to advertise and begin a new business. The startup costs are low and there are no employees to pay, at least in the beginning. You donít have to spend hours at the library or on the telephone doing research on your business idea. The information you need can be accessed quickly via the World Wide Web.

Marketing is a Must

Even for a profitable and slightly tapped area of business, people wonít come running to you. Marketing is everything for a business online or offline. Marketing strategies have gone high-tech on the Internet. It presents an often steep learning curve to young business owners to make their way in the online business world.

Increase Visibility

You may have a strong business idea and a great product, but are you doing everything you can to be seen by the right people? Increasing your visibility can change the way that potential customers see your business.

Visibility is the glue that holds all other strategies together when it comes to achieving expert status as a business owner. Each strategy gets your name out among other business owners, movers and shakers and potential clients. Being seen goes a long way with the word-of-mouth crowd.

Here are a few ways that you can increase your visibility:

• Social Media presence
• Press Releases
• Blogging for Business
• Newsletter Distribution
Trying new things to elevate yourself within your business is a part of the process. And, it can be fun to learn just how good you are.

When you are on Facebook and a fellow business owner is looking for speakers for his online conference or a local event in your area, throw your hat in the ring.

Every opportunity places another feather in your cap. It is a point that you can add to your bio and also your press releases for new products or events.

Distributing newsletters is a great tool for your customers. Sending a monthly or quarterly newsletter about your business gives you the chance to add information about accomplishments that have occurred since the last newsletter. Each solidifies your expert status in the eyes of current and potential customers. Newsletters can be printed and passed around to others.

Once you put all of this in place, keep a monthly check on your ventures to be sure that they are still bringing about the desired effect. Some of it won’t require much tweaking just checking in with the movers and shakers to be sure they still know your name.

Achieving expert status inspires confidence on the part of customers and fellow business owners. Increasing your visibility is the first step and we can help you do just that.

Make Your Business Personal with a Blog

Are you blogging these days? Just about everyone is doing it from housewives to teenagers. As a business owner, you would benefit from a blog as well.

Blogs are not just for people who want to share have an outlet for their opinions. Blogs started off as simply online journals for friends and family but they have evolved into so much more. The recent attention that mommy bloggers are getting is proof of that. Think about the impact blogging could have on your business.

There are many advantages to starting one.

1. Let your readers and customers see who you are. A blog gives you a place to “let your hair down” so to speak. While your website is all about business and making the sale, your blog can have a less structured feel to it. Here is where you can share personal stories about your ventures into the business world and lessons you have learned.

2. Customers can give feedback to you. Unless you hear from the customers, how do you know whether you are still meeting their needs? A drop in sales is not the way to find out that your customers are unhappy. You can pose questions, implement surveys and ask for suggestions from those who are the foundation of your business.

3. You have a place to provide resources. Let’s say that one of your customers wants to get into business online or use some of the methods that have made you a success. On your blog, you can post your own helpful links. Another option is using tools like Google AdSense. While you are providing help for your readers, you are also creating a stream of passive income for your business.

4. It is easy to do. Using sites like WordPress, you gain access to a lot of free features to enhance your blog. You can get up and running in a day or so.

Having a blog is like a talk show once the cameras stop rolling. You can interact with your loyal readers and customers. It is a dedicated place where they can come to hear from you. Key Client Services can assist you with content writing, article marketing, and ghostwriting.
